Bliss are dedicated to ensuring that more babies not only survive, but also go on to have the best possible quality of life.

Bliss provides emotional and practical support for parents and families through what can be a traumatic time in their lives.  Our free family support helpline, website, online parent messageboard and range of information leaflets help tens of thousands of families every year. We also work with hospital units and run local support groups to provide longer term support.

By supporting parents and families, we help them give the most effective care to their babies and enable them to make confident and informed decisions.

We fund major clinical research projects that aim to improve the care provided to all sick and premature babies.  We also support the development of doctors and nurses through specialist study days, bursaries and publications such as our Information Guide for Health Visitors.

Services for special care babies are under-staffed and under considerable strain.  We are committed to raise awareness of the importance of these services and bring about necessary changes in policy and funding.  We work across the UK with governments and the NHS to make sure that babies receive the best level of care regardless of where and when they are bon www.bliss.org.uk
